Tools from the Alliance to mobilise communities for HIV/AIDS

This toolkit contains two resources developed by the HIV/AIDS Alliance to provide a way for organisations and communities to work more effectively together to address HIV/AIDS. All the tools and approaches described in these toolkits were developed or adapted in the field by communities.

• Tools together now! – a toolkit of 100 participatory tools to help facilitate community mobilisation

• All together now! – a toolkit on how to mobilise communities for HIV/AIDS prevention, care, support, and treatment and impact mitigation

The toolkits take communities through a process of:
• starting together
• assessing together
• planning together
• acting together
• monitoring, evaluating and reflecting together
• and scaling up together

These toolkits are designed for training facilitators working directly with communities affected by HIV/AIDS. They are intended to assist trainers and others providing training to NGOs and CBOs. However, other organisations working on HIV/AIDS should find these tools useful for their work such as NGO support programmes and NGOs/CBOs themselves.
